Other interests

So many things to do, so little time!

I have a bunch of other interests that I love dearly. When I go on cycling trips, I often stumble upon cats and feel the need to stop to pet them. I also enjoy visiting warm places where delicious bananas grow and where good coffee is made. If I have some extra time, I enjoy playing the guitar and piano, some baking as well as joining the local Parkrun every Saturday.

I travel for bananas

I think the bananas from the Canary Islands are the best I’ve tasted so far, though the boutique ladyfinger bananas in Australia come close. Plus, I collect the stickers that come on bananas! Expand for more.

Coffee snob

A great coffee stop is a must on any bike ride – whether that’s a piccolo in Australia, a cortado in Spain, a noisette in France, a pingo in Portugal, or an espresso macchiato in Italy. Expand for more.

Guitar and piano

I play the guitar and piano. I learnt the piano from YouTube and the guitar back at uni.

Cooking and baking

I cook my own almost daily, but if I have the time I'd bake something nice.

Parkrun

I just love the concept of Parkrun. The formula is so simple and scalable. I love the community feeling, and it’s just long (or short) enough for a cyclist who hates running to attend almost every weekend.
