From an early age, travel has been an integral part of my life. Growing up in Taiwan, South Africa, and Australia, I was exposed to a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and landscapes. Each move brought new experiences and broadened my horizons, fuelling my desire to explore even more of this incredible world. This wanderlust is more than just a hobby; it's a way of life that continues to shape who I am today.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my travels has been exploring new places on my bike. There's something incredible about crossing international borders by bike. Borders are a man-made construct, and yet the concept of crossing over them is quite fascinating to someone who didn't grow up in Europe. This is evident in some of my rides — sometimes my rides are simply to cross borders for a few photos.

Relocating to another country can be both exciting and exhausting. It involves a lot of planning and paperwork, requiring patience and perseverance. You leave everything behind; friends, family; but the reward of new adventures and the opportunity to travel makes up for it — mostly.
The maps here — every ride, every coloured-in country and every flight path — represent a memory, a story, and a lesson learnt. Travelling has not only enriched my life with unforgettable experiences but has also deepened my appreciation for the world's beauty and complexity. It's a passion that continues to drive me, inspiring me to seek out the next great adventure, embrace different cultures, and connect with people from all walks of life. Whether it's planning the next cycling trip, learning a new language, or simply dreaming of the next destination, my wanderlust remains a powerful force in my life.
I believe the Schengen Area is one of Europe's greatest achievements. One of my favourite travel experiences has been visiting various EU land border crossings by bike. For me, it's still fascinating that you can simply cross the border into another country. Standing at the point where three countries meet, for example, symbolises the intersection of different cultures and histories. I think that's really cool. Additionally, I love taking pictures — they remind me of the vastness and diversity of our world and how much there is still left to explore.
