My passion for cycling extends to the art of team kit designs. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of designing kits for a variety of teams and clients, including the UQCC and the University of Queensland corporate team. I'm very grateful for the opportunities to contribute to these projects. I also took the initiative to update the corporate kit for TNO to coincide with the introduction of the new house style.
My most recent work was designing the leader's jersey for the WTOS Delft Hans van Os Trophy. This project was particularly special to me because of my affection for my team, and it was a great opportunity to put that same energy and dedication into the work.
I stay current with trends in professional cycling to create designs that are both modern and enduring. My approach balances heritage and innovation through simple graphics, defined colour palettes, and well-proportioned elements. Using Photoshop, I present each concept clearly and impactfully, ensuring it is both functional and visually strong. Every kit is developed to a clear brief and requirements, with a focus on clarity, longevity and team identity. The process is collaborative and iterative, shaped by feedback, while also accounting for production constraints and close coordination with suppliers to ensure each design can be realised seamlessly.
This leader's jersey was specially designed for the WTOS Delft Hans van Os Trophy. To create a design that honours the club's heritage while looking modern, I incorporated colours and elements from past kits and gave them a contemporary update. I also used the Golden Ratio to precisely position each design element, ensuring a final product that is both aesthetically pleasing and balanced.
Following the design of the leader's jersey, this concept serves as the blueprint for the next evolution of the WTOS Delft kit. It blends recognisable elements from the Hans van Os Trophy design with the sky blue colour palette of the current team kit. By carrying over the horizontal stripes and Delft Blue patterns, the design creates a cohesive and modern look for the entire team.
As an initiative, I collaborated with the TNO cycling group, marketing team, and supplier to design an updated kit. We worked together to create a fresh look that aligns with the latest TNO house style and brand guidelines. The final design incorporates TNO's core colours and a subtle dot pattern from their official branding, resulting in a balanced and professional appearance.
Inspired by my long-standing connection to UQCC, I submitted this design proposal that blends tradition with modern aesthetics. This project aimed to create an evolution of the club's identity, featuring the classic UQ Sport colours of Queensland maroon, sky blue and navy, while also incorporating a complementary women's kit with rose pink as part of the design brief. This concept also follows design principles like the Golden Ratio for visual harmony.
This project was an opportunity to design a new cycling kit for the University of Queensland's corporate team competing in the Brisbane Mt Coot-tha Burn race. The design aligns with UQ's brand refresh, using a vibrant purple as part of the new corporate brand identity inspired by the campus's jacaranda blossoms and a dynamic V-shaped chevron to create a modern, cohesive look for the team.
Inspired by Brisbane City Hall, this cycling kit was my entry for the Brisbane City Council's "Riders Wrap" competition, a campaign to promote active transport and cycling. The project served as an excellent example of modular design, as I was able to efficiently adapt a previous kit template to create this new, vibrant design. The final product proudly features the city's official blue and yellow colours, with intricate patterns that celebrate Brisbane's identity.
